Streets for citizens
On prepoznaje nedostatak kompetencija i alata među lokalnim vlastima u malim i srednjim gradovima za efikasno rješavanje ovih problema.
The Streets for Citizens project, which operates within the framework of the Interreg Euro-MED program and with the mission of promoting green residential areas, addresses two basic challenges:
1. High level of car ownership, traffic and road hazards
2. Limited quantity and/or quality of green spaces and community activities
In order to achieve a change in behavior towards sustainable urban mobility and green streets, the project focuses on raising awareness and influencing the behavior of citizens. He recognizes the lack of competence and tools among local authorities in small and medium-sized cities to effectively deal with these problems.
The primary goal of the project is to empower the public sector and related entities to effectively involve citizens and increase their engagement in solving the challenges of mobility and public spaces in functional urban areas. The ultimate goal is to encourage the active participation of citizens in interventions aimed at improving urban sustainability.
This project adopts several innovative approaches, including principles of tactical urbanism, new participatory tools, digital solutions, design thinking and a people-centered approach. By adopting this methodology, the project aims to catalyze significant changes in urban planning and citizen engagement throughout the region.
